It’s not just the sunshine, sea and the sheer Cornishness; it’s well worth considering a wedding venue in Cornwall for all sorts of other reasons, even if you don’t live in the south west. Here are what we think are 12 great reasons to get married in Cornwall.

  1. The sunshine, sea and sheer Cornishness! Seriously, the chance of good weather for your wedding is higher than anywhere else in the UK and everywhere down here in Cornwall is within 20 minutes drive of the coast and often much closer.
  2. People in Cornwall are great! We’re very friendly and welcoming.
  3. The chilled vibes down here! Salty air in your hair is a great look.
  4. The food. The food! There’s a reason you can’t escape from Cornish food on your television these days, with Gordon Ramsay jumping out of helicopters and cooking on Lusty Glaze beach in Newquay, to the ubiquitous Rick Stein cooking…just about everywhere. It’s great when weddings include scones, pasties and fish and chips which are always associated with Cornwall. Get married in Cornwall and you can have scones as canapes and pasties or a fish and chip van during the evening celebration. You could have Cornish fudge for favours or – imagine your wedding breakfast including the freshest fish caught that morning from Polperro!
  5. The huge variety of what’s on offer in Cornwall in terms of fun things to do and amazing places to stay gives your guests the best possible opportunity to plan a lovely break around your wedding and you’ll find a lot of them will welcome the chance to do so.
  6. Especially if you live in London or the South East, you’ll find you can get a lot more for your money when planning to get married in Cornwall, where supplier costs are simply not as expensive (and the quality and attention to detail, we believe, will often be better) Yes, the maths add up favourably, even takes account of booking a premium venue such as Trenderway and all the related costs you’d anticipate – including travel to what is now a far more accessible corner of Britain (see 4 – 6 below) than you might imagine if you haven’t looked into it.
  7. Cornwall is now super accessible by road. The A30 that extends from the end of the motorway network at Exeter is now a dual carriageway as far as Truro, deep into mid Cornwall, which means it’s dual carriageway all the way from London, Mancheser, Leeds and most major conurbations.
  8. The Great Western train from London Paddington runs a fast, 4 hour service to Bodmin Parkway and stopping at many other Cornish stations beyond Plymouth on the way to Penzance.
  9. You can fly to Cornwall Airport, Newquay, from several UK airports, with more direct services from major cities such as London and Manchester in the summer months.
  10. We have absolutely wonderful beaches everywhere, for unbeatable wedding pics and videos.
  11. The range of venues you have to choose from to get married in Cornwall is truly wide and varied, which means you’ll find somewhere just perfect for you to get married in our county. Here’s where we acknowledge a vested interest in your decision-making process; Trenderway is our incomparable, rustic barn wedding venue set just inland from Polperro on the beautiful south coast. We’d like to invite you to add us to your shortlist.
  12. Getting married in a special place away from where you live means you’ll always have that special place that means so much to you both to visit, away from your day to day life. Jump in the car, or hop on a plane and enjoy anniversaries and special times in the area you tied the knot. Trenderway often welcomes our couples back. Come and celebrate your anniversaries in our Luxury B&B! Get married in Cornwall and you’ll always be part of our Trenderway family.
